Angels' Eyes is a easily-fed supplement used to treat the causes of tear staining around your dog's eyes. It can also help clear up "licking stains" which are commonly found on the chest and feet, as well as around the mouth. Angels' Eyes addresses the actual cause of staining, too much iron/magnesium in the tears, rather than merely getting rid of the symptoms.
There are many factors that can affect tearing, such as allergens in the environment and certain ingredients in treats or food. Other situations that may affect it are ear infections, any teeth or gum problems, and low-grade bacterial infections in the tear ducts. Puppies cutting their first teeth are also highly susceptible.
Other factors are irritants from poor hygiene, excess grooming products, dirt and dust, and also ingrown hairs can that cause eye matter, which leads to more tearing and staining. Wet hair around the eyes is a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast.
Some hereditary factors may cause eye staining, such as small tear ducts or overly watery eyes. Many small dogs are bred to have short muzzles that are less conducive to healthy drainage and large eyes, allowing for more eye irritation. Some dogs also inherit defects in their facial structure that may result in eye stains.
The active ingredient is Tylisin as Tartrate. It helps prevent your dog from contracting bacterial and Red Yeast infections which cause excess tearing and staining. Tylisin binds with the pigments in the yeast and ties up circulating porphyrins, a compound that reacts with light and produces a reddish brown stain in the inside of the eyelid, thus preventing them from staining your dog's hair.
Depending on your dog's hair growth, results can be seen anywhere from three to five weeks. Regularly trim the stained coat as the new coat grows in.
Angels' Eyes for Dogs comes in chicken, beef, and sweet potato flavors which are all highly palatable, and it is easy to administer. Angels' Eyes should be fed daily until the tear stains are eliminated, and then continue to use for 30 more days. If new tear stains appear, the procedure may be repeated. As you keep trimming the stained areas, the newly grown coat will be totally clear. The growth pattern of your pet's coat will determine if it will be completely tear stain free anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks.

Angels' Eyes for Dogs - Blessing in a Bottle

I have a cream French Bulldog. A few weeks before her second birthday and a huge agility trial she began having tear staining around and under her eyes and in the creases of skin above her nose. I tried everything to remove the staining before that dog show with no luck. Professional photographers took pictures of her at that show. When we got the pictures the staining was so noticeable and just looked horrible. So, again I began looking for something that would once and for all, remove those ugly stains. I spent a fortune on products designed to remove the stains and nothing worked. Then I read about Angel's Eyes. I took the information to my vet to get her opinion on the product. Her comment was that she wasn't familiar with the product so she didn't know if the product worked or not, however, there wasn't any ingredient on the ingredients listing that would hurt her either and she recommended trying the sweet potato. I ordered the product, gave it to her according to the instructions and in just about a month the staining was gone! I now know, during certain months of the year, her eyes are going to tear more than usual and I start giving her Angle's Eyes again according to the instructions. We no longer have a staining problem anytime of the year! It works! It really works! So, after reading this review and you decide to try this product, you will see the prices will vary greatly from vendor to vendor. The stuff ROCKS. My dog Mia, poodle mix, had bad circles around her eyes, was leaking this dark liquid constantly from her eyes. This was staining her eyes with a dark circle. It was awful. I bought the original Angel eye formula, here eyes within 2 weeks started to clear up, and then after that I used the "natural formula." And it's kept her eyes clear ever since. I love Angels' Eyes for Dogs. When I got Gracie (solid white) her eyes were so dark, I was beginning to wonder if anything would remove it, but after using Angels' Eyes for Dogs, her eyes started to look much better. Now she is a beautiful white Poodle with no dark on her eyes. When I take her with me and people see her, they comment on just how beautiful she is. I'm giving this product to a maltese mix and she loves it. I notice a difference only with a week use and her tears look clearer and do not leave a redish brown deposit on her fur around her eyes. I bought the small bottle of the chicken flavor, because she's a picky eater and I didn't know if she would like it or not. I mix it in with her moist food and she licks the bowl clean and she usually doesn't do that. I'm buying the bigger bottle next time because at the beginning of using the product you put it in the pets food daily, so I'm almost out of it. For a small dog under 12 lbs. You have the best prices of anyone for Angel Eyes. I have a white maltese and a light colored ShihTzu. Having been using Angel Eyes since they were puppies and no stains on their hair. Ran out once and tried something else and it didn't work. After getting Angel Eyes again, it took awhile but the hair was no longer stained. Will never be without this product. (Posted on 9/13/10)
