The active ingredient in D-Worm, pyrantel pamoate, has been proven highly effective in removing large roundworms (ascarids toxacara canis and toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (ancylstoma caninum and uncinaria stenocephala) in puppies and dogs. D-Worm also helps prevent the reinfestation of toxocara canis in puppies and adult dogs and in lactating bitches after whelping. No fasting or laxatives required. Approved for use in puppies as young as two weeks old. In clinical tests on dogs of various breeds and ages, pyrantel pamoate caused no side effects.

Dosage for Large Dogs: 25 lbs give 1/2 tablet, 26-50 lbs. give one tablet, 51-75 lbs. give 1 1/2 tablets, 76-100 lbs. give 2 tablets. Offer the proper dosage by hand or in the dogs food container, with or without food. Do not withhold food from your dog prior to or after treatment. The presence of these parasites in mature dogs should be confirmed by laboratory fecal examination. A follow-up fecal examination should be conducted in 2 to 4 weeks after fist treatment to determine the need for retreatment. Nursing bitches should be treated 2-3 weeks after whelping. Adult dogs should be routinely treated at monthly intervals to prevent reinfection with large roundworms found in their environment. Retreatment may be necessary at monthly intervals as determined by laboratory fecal examinations or in animals kept in known contaminated quarters.

Directions for Small Dogs or Puppies: Give 1 tablet for each 10 lbs. of body weight. (Dosage is designed to provide at least 2.27 mg per pound of body weight for dogs weighing over 5 lbs., and at least 4.54 mg per pound of body weight for dogs weighing less than 5 lbs.). For dogs weighing more than 10 lbs., tablets may be broken in half to provide 1/2 tablet for each additional 5 lbs. body weight.
