In the past, pastures contained many different types of plants and grasses that provided beneficial nutrients and bacteria for horses. Typical pastures today only contain a few varieties of plants and grasses, so there are generally not enough probiotics available in a horse's normal environment to support their digestive needs when they need help.Horses primarily live on grass, which provides the animal with nutrients by fermenting in the gut. Because fermentation is dependent on the microorganisms that live in the large intestine, probiotics help horses' digestion work at optimal levels by keeping the microorganisms flourishing and healthy. Many owners are beginning to realize that improving their horse's digestion not only helps improve their overall health, but also reduces the amount of feed needed to maintain a healthy weight.
There are many factors that can effect the number microorganisms in the gut. Some of them are stress-related, such as foaling, weaning, showing, and transporting, and some are health-related such as vaccination, deworming, and antibiotic treatment. Some of these factors result in problems with proper digestion or assimilation of nutrients. This can result in skin and hoof problems, weight problems, or health problems such as diarrhea.
Research has shown that the maximum benefit of the supplementation comes with consistent use. Probios Equine One Gel makes this easy as it comes packaged in a tube with clear markings of measurement to help you provide the recommended dose.

My cat loves it
I bought this at the suggestion of my vet for my cat's diarrhea. I'm not at all sure that it made any difference in her condition but she adores the stuff and considers it a "treat". Given that she's overweight, I feel comfortable giving her 1g each day. It might help and shouldn't hurt. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because when you only dispense 1g per day, the gel starts to "melt" and the tube winds up quite greasy because it leaks. I have to keep it wrapped in a paper towel.
Good alternative to powder form for puppies and sick dogs.
The powder form is more economical, but this is a good alternative when you have puppies or sick or convalescing dogs. Puppies and adult dogs seem to like the taste, but even if they don't, the syringe makes it very easy to administer to ensure they get their daily dose of probiotics. Probios in any form is a must when your pet is on antibiotics to ensure they get the good bacteria back in their gut as antibiotics destroy all the bacteria in their gut, both good and bad.
Excellent product
I have an older horse that was in terrible condition when we got him. He was starved, 500lbs under weight. After we got him up to weight he started getting getting the runs...we started giving him Probios and it has worked wonders. Thanks so much. I highly recommend this product.
Essential for my pet
I have a dog with life-long digestive issues. This product is essential for the health of his gut; without it, bad bacteria take over and he gets diarrhea, bad gas, and no doubt is very uncomfortable. A few grams of this twice a day keeps him happy. We use this one because it does not contain anything but the digestive ingredients. It is very easy to administer and he loves it.
Amazing Stuff!
I have a 11 year old mare quarter horse and this is amazing stuff, my horse has never had a stomach issue. I started giving her this stuff and shes ran faster than ever (shes gained some weight too which helped) and her coat is amazing(even in the winter) she is overall an amazingly healthy and happy horse now! Thank you to the makers of this product!
