An easy to use topical product, Frontline Top Spot kills fleas within 12 hours of treatment, before they can lay eggs, which is between 23 to 36 hours, and it kills ticks within 48. It is also effectively helps to eliminate chewing lice and control sarcoptic mange infestations. Unlike many other products, Frontline kills ticks, fleas and mites that come into contact with your dog's coat, without them having to bite into the skin. Top Spot works by spreading over the dog's body where it collects in the oil glands of the skin and is then dispersed by the dog's natural oils. It can take up to 24 hours for this process to be completed, but then it is wicked up through the hair over the next 30 days.
Frontline is safe to use on pregnant and lactating dogs and can be used on puppies as young as eight weeks old. It can even be used on dogs who have been treated with other parasite applications, as long as 24 hours have passed, because it has been shown to have no reactions to systemic medications.
This product is easy to apply. To use, remove the applicator from the packaging, hold it upright and snap the tip away from your face and body. Place the tip on the skin between the shoulder blades, making sure to avoid superficial application the your dog's hair, and then squeeze to empty the entire contents in one area of your dog's skin. Frontline must be used to dry skin, so it is recommended to not bathe your dog for 24 hours before or after application.
As long as Frontline is stored at room temperature in its original packaging, it will not expire.
Frontline Top Spot kills fleas for up to three months. If your dog has fleas that might cause dermatitis or if there is a high risk of re-infestation, a monthly application may be necessary to control the parasites. A monthly application is recommended for control of ticks and chewing lice.

Our Vet has said that our pooch does not need "plus" and this is one of the few places that we could purchase Frontline at a competitive price w/o "plus". (Posted on 1/5/12)
