PetsPrefer Hairball Formula for Cats is a natural supplement that contains Marshmallow Root to sooth irritated bowel linings where hairballs accumulate and Slippery Elm Bark to help hairballs pass safely through the G-I tract. It is formulated to be a complete daily supplement for cats of all ages.
Marshmallow Root helps support proper digestion and bowel health, while Slippery Elm Bark is known to help maintain a healthy intestinal tract. This supplement also contains Linoleic Acid, which is a naturally-occurring Omega-6 fatty acid, which is essential for the maintenance of your cat's skin and coat. It also encourages normal growth, proper membrane structure, and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins.
Hairball Formula for Cats also contains taurine, an amino-acid that is necessary for the proper digestion of fats in the small intestine. Cats cannot produce their own taurine, so they must get it through their diet. Taurine is important for many reasons. For instance, it is indispensable for eye health, as a deficiency of it causes degeneration of the retina, and ultimately blindness. It is also important for heart health and reproduction function. A taurine deficiency can lead to a lack of fertility and complications and abnormalities in kittens. Taurine is also necessary for the nervous system functionality, immune responses, and protection of respiratory tissue.

Directions: Mix tablets with food.
Tip: The tablets may be utilized as a treat or crumbed and mixed with food.
Feeding Recommendations: Kittens: Give ΒΌ tablet daily. Adult cats give 1 tablet daily.
Cautions: Keep out of reach of children and other animals
Special Precautions: Not for pregnant cats. If cat is on other medication, give product 30 minutes apart to prevent absorption of medication by Slippery Elm. If cat's condition worsens or does not improve, consult your veterinarian.
In the event of overdose: Call a veterinarian or health official.

Can't remember the last hairball I had cleaned up

My cat Tibs had major hairball problems. It was so disgusting, cleaning up after him, stepping in them, whatever. It was horrible! I didn't want to change his food because I felt like the food we use is such high quality, but something had to be done. This was the perfect solution! Not only have the hairballs basically stopped, but the vitamins and stuff have been helping too. I've definitely noticed his coat looking shinier. I'm so excited that this works, and he doesn't mind it mixed in with his food! (Posted on 4/21/11)
