Joint Plus for Dogs

PetsPrefer Joint Plus for Dogs contains a blend of ingredients that have been proven to help support healthy bones, joints, and surrounding tissues. It contains glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, perna mussel, MSM, manganese, Vitamins C and E, and ginseng.

Glucosamine is a natural supplement that is easily absorbed and may stimulate the production of substances that help maintain the health and resiliency of joints and their connective tissues. It may also help treat arthritis and prevent cartilage degeneration. In osteoarthritis, the cushion that surrounds the joints becomes thinner and stiff. Glucosamine is used in the body to create the cushion, so taking glucosamine as a supplement might help supply the materials needed to rebuild it. Chondroitin is often given along with glucosamine because its use may increase the efficacy of the glucosamine. Extract of Perna Mussel is added because it contains additional glucosamine and other compounds that help maintain joint function and mobility. MSM supports healthy connective tissues such as muscle, tendons, and ligaments, and also helps to maintain synovial fluid that lubricates joints.

Joints Plus was created to support the whole dog, and because of this, contains several extra ingredients that help with total health. Manganese is a necessary part of a number of enzymes that are essential in detoxification of damaging free radicals. Vitamin C is an antioxidant used in many metabolic reactions and is also important for the healing of wounds. Vitamin E is also an important antioxidant, and is involved in immune function. The last ingredient, ginseng, helps to increase resistance to stressors, both chemical and biological, and helps to build energy and general vitality, which helps your dog cope with external stresses.

 Directions: The tablet can be given directly or crumbled and mixed directly with meal. After initial six-week period the level can be reduced to half. Administration may be increased at any time depending on the pet’s needs.

Tip: The chewable tablet can be given as a treat.

Dosage: (Initial)
Under 20 lbs: ½ tablet daily
20 to 70 lbs: 1 tablet daily (1/2 in the morning & 1/2 in the evening)
Over 70 lbs: 2 tablets daily (1 in the morning & 1 in the evening)

After initial six-week period the level can be reduced to half.

Cautions: Administer during or just after the animal has eaten to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal upset. Keep out of reach of children and other animals.

Special Precautions: Safe use in pregnant animals or animals intended for breeding has not been proven. Consult with your veterinarian before using this product in animals: with clotting disorders; being treated with anticoagulant medications; diabetes or any metabolic disorder causing hyperglycemia; history of urinary stones; known allergies to shell fish. If lameness worsens, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian.

In the event of overdose: In case of accidental overdose contact a health professional immediately.

Storage and Handling: Store in a cool, dry area for maximum stability.
