KMR Liquid Milk Replacer for kittens is a complete food source for kittens. It can be fed to those who were orphaned or rejected and also those who are nursing, but require supplemental feeding. This industry-standard formula closely matches the mother's milk in fat, protein, and carbohydrates. It is highly recommended for growing kittens and adult cats who's bodies are stressed from being pregnant, lactating, or injury, and require a source of highly digestible nutrients.

A special ingredient of KMR is taurine, an amino acid when referring to feline diets. For cats, taurine is an essential amino acid, meaning that they cannot produce their own taurine, unlike most other mammals. It is essential for cats to take in adequate amounts of taurine on a regular basis. Prolonged taurine deficiencies can cause central retinal degeneration, which can result in blindness. Taurine also helps to protect against dilated cardiomyopathy a condition in which the heart dilates, causing its walls become thinner and weaker. This makes the heart less effective and can result in a form of heart failure.

Small and/or weak kittens or hamsters should be fed every three to four hours. Larger and/or older kittens can do well being fed every eight hours. The amount required should be increased or decreased to meet the individual requirements for each animal.Use of a small nurser bottle is recommended. The Pet Ag 2 oz. Nurser is suitable for feeding most kitten or baby hamsters. When they are old enough to lap, begin offering KMR in a shallow container. I have used this when fostering kittens, and sometimes for adult cats who are dehydrated. Compared to other brands, it is the most well-liked and most tolerated by the digestive system. The kittens are always unhappy if I run out. I find KMR to be a life saver.

Did not like the ingredient list.

1 stars

I purchased this to have on hand for an emergency with a new litter. I have not had to actually use it. I am a little disappointed with the ingredient list. I will probably donate this product to a rescue group. After receiving this product I actually replaced it with another with better ingredients prior to the litter being born.

Great for Older Cats Too

5 stars

We buy this for our elderly cat who suffers from strokes. The strokes have left her in a position where she can drink, but not eat solids, so w/o this product I don't know how we would sustain her. It's high in calories and she loves the taste. Since it's formulated for cats of any age, she gets the nutrients and vitamins she needs. Highly recommend.

Fewer Digestive Problems

5 stars

I have used this brand on my farm several times, and the kittens seem to have fewer digestive problems with it, compared to other brands I have used. The liquid form is easier because sometimes it's hard to get the pwder evenly dispersed. All in all, a good product. It's saved lots of kittens here on our farm.
