It is a Kong product so it is great for hard biters. Do not let your dogs chew on this if it is dirty with dirt or small rocks. Other than that it is great. I prefer the black ones as they last longer and are not much more in price. PSCPets.com has the best prices on these. I paid allot more for mine, but will be getting them from here form now on. I would like to see them carry the Kong Balls that are solid in the future.
Indestructable
My weimeraner seems to like this toy enough, and it is quite tough. He has yet to break off any pieces, but I think he would enjoy it more if it was scented. He prefers the orange, vanilla-scented toys sold at walmart, but those are also less durable.
Perfect partner
Sometimes your dog needs some quiet time, maybe due to injury, or if you need to be away and they are not used to being away from you. Or maybe they just need a new and different thing to do?
You can leave a dog in a crate with a KONG without fear it can be torn apart or ingested, or take their minds off a separation anxiety by filling with some wet dog food, then freezing, and leaving with a pet as you walk out the door.. The dog will not notice you leaving and be upset if something yummy and a toy that will occupy their tongue AND their mind for awhile can keep them busy.
You can also trick a dog into taking meds this way.. Mix them in with the food IN the kong.. Or use a safe broth, and freeze.. Let them enjoy it out in the grass on a hot day, just with plain water.. They will lick and lick and get hydrated in the course of play. ANY size KONG is perfect, for any dog. You will find more uses for it as you go along. We have, and honestly, I am not that creative!
