The purchase of this product followed well researched information regarding helping our adopted dog, Charlie, who was diagnosed with multiple inoperable liver shunts, process his meals in order to get as much nutrition from his meals as he could. This product, a probiotic, is recommended in order to add good bacteria into his gut as well protecting his gut from the bad bacteria. Another benefit is adding regularity and substance to his "waste". This product contains four species of live naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria including three species of Lactobacillus (acidophilus, plantarum, casei) along with Enterococcus faecium which is more than any other probiotic I found. It was also more cost effective per serving. I saw the benefit of this addition to Charlie's diet within a week and improvement of Charlie's overall condition in about a month. *Please note this is just one product that has been added to Charlie's diet as liver shunts require pre-digestion as well as pro-digestion. An excellent product for all animals, to maintain continued intestinal health from the inside out. I started using this after my cat died from a mysterious black mass in her gut. She let us know she was sick too late. There was nothing we could do to save her. Since then I will never go without this for my cats and dogs.

We had been using Fortiflora with our dog who has soft stool, but the individual packets are expensive to use on an on-going basis, so we ordered the Probios Dispersible Powder. Our Maine Coon kitten "Love Shack" had battled the runs for weeks. A stool culture showed the presence of an abnormal amount of spyrochetes bacteria which made him have severe ongoing diarrhea. He would not hold down food either and wouild throw up the medicine he was given to treat the spyrochetes. Since we couldn't get the medicine down his condition worsened, he was becoming very frail and weak. Finally, I started using the probios gel 45 minutes before his food. My intent was to settle his stomach before offering food. Then I allowed him to eat, After a full tummy I gave him his meds. I feel the probiotic created a healthy gutt environment where Shack was finally able to handle keeping his food and medicine down which promoted his appetite to return and his full recovery.
