What is this product used for: Tryptophan Plus Gel is a gel that contains high levels of the essential amino acid tryptophan along with other amino acids, vitamins, electrolytes and dextrose to maintain normal performance horses and during times of stress such as exercise, racing or shipping.

Benefits: This product contains a unique combination of essential ingredients that help horses maintain normal disposition in times of stress. Tryptophan can help maintain calmness. The electrolytes of sodium and potassium help horses maintain hydration during stress. The dextrose and protein help in energy production required in stressful times. Other vitamins and minerals provide additional support for healthy horses. It is apple flavored, a flavor horses love.

How it works: Tryptophan is an essential amino acid. Tryptophan functions as a biochemical precursor for the neurotransmitter serotonin. In turn, serotonin acts as a calming agent. Sodium and potassium are major extracellular minerals and help maintain normal body fluid levels. The vitamins niacinamide, pyridoxine, thiamine and riboflavin provide nutrients for a healthy body. Dextrose and protein provides energy.

Directions: For adult horses, provide 16 to 32 cc orally, 1-1/2 to 2 hours prior to competition, strenuous exercise, racing or shipping.
Tip: Provide directly from tube onto back of horse’s tongue. Provide plenty of clean water.

Cautions: Keep out of reach of children and other animals. Do not give to animals without a swallowing reflex.
