Your dog or cat will need lots of fluids, and sometimes humidifiers can be helpful with the coughing and congestion. Really, anything you would do for yourself if you had a cold would probably help.

you need to take your pet to the vet. they will prescribe antibiotics and possibly a decongestant.

I would take my cat in to get treated by her vet. It might be the start of something else, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

the vet can't really do anything, unless it's more than a cold, like if it's an infection or pneumonia. just make sure he or she gets lots of fluids and is eating alright. keep an eye out in case it lasts for a couple weeks and then take him or her in.
