My wife and I always feed our Lab leftovers from the table. He likes everything, even salad! I was throwing him grapes the other day, and a friend of mine told me that she heard grapes are poisonis to dogs. Is that true? What other foods shouldn't he eat, besides chocolate.

That link says that raw eggs are bad. I have always fed my dogs raw eggs and have never had any problems. If you use organic, free range eggs, it can really benefit the coat, and there is a very low chance of salmonella poisoning in that kind of environment.

It is true. Grapes and raisins have some sort of toxin in them that can cause kidney damage. I don't know exactly how much it takes to effect the dog, I guess it probably depends on the size.

I think it's more about how people feed their dogs table scraps, which end up being all fat or wheat, like pizza crust. It's giving them a bunch of food that isn't nutritionally balanced. Although some dogs eat cheap dog food and table scraps their whole life and live to be old.

As long as your dog is healthy and happy, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

No cooked bones of any kind! They could get stuck in his throat or even his intestines.
