Rabbits are very sensitive to heat and can expereince heatstroke quite easily. I always recommend trying to prevent heat stroke before it happens, although I also have expereience with rabbits who had heat stroke come on very quickly. What I recommend is providing your rabbit with room temperature water, not cold as you don't want to shock them, and adding some Revitilyte powder to the water to help replace electrolytes that they need. Of course, it is always best to consult your vet as well in extreme cases such as this. If you are concerned that this may happen, I also recommend that you check with your vet to have a plan in place so that you know what to do if this does occur.

Heatstroke is serious. You should definitely call your vet right away.

You can use a towel to dampen their body and especially their ears with cool, not ice cold, water, and then call the vet right away.
