How can I tell if my dog is in pain?
I know Xanthe has arthritus, but how can i tell if my dog is in pain, and how can i tell how much? I mean, she moves around a little slowly in the mornings and at night, but she seems to be in a good mood most of the time, happy and she gets excited about things. I just want to make sure I can keep on top of it. i don't want her suffering and not be aware. Thanks for the help.

If she's moving around less and also more slowly, she is definitely in pain, but if she's still "herself", she's doing fine. You might want to try an anti-inflamatory, like yucca. It's natural, so it won't interfere with any prescriptions she might be put on in the future.
